[lug] DSL routing

I am trying to move from a working, static ip router configuration
runnning on win98 (Winproxy) to linux.
I have duplicated the route table from win98 to linux, but can't even ping
the gateway. My lan hosts ping fine.
The ifconfigs for the nics look good (I think).
There must be additional steps, but I seem to be stuck (and lame).

Appreciate any assist.
