[lug] Programming

I want to learn more programming. I'm specifically interested in C and
C++. Can anyone here recommend any good tutorials or books on either of
these subjects? Or even on programming concepts in general. I'm
searching the net as we speak but haven't found much of anything yet.
I'm fairly proficient in Perl and Basic but haven't had the need to
learn anything else....yet. I'm thinking of heading over to SoftPro
and/or the library after work.
