Well, one way is to burn the ISO image onto a CD, then boot from that (the ISO
image is the entire structure of the CD, not just the directories and
filenames).

On a network, you can do as I'm doing right now:

1) Mount the ISO image as a loopback device (which lets you navigate its
internal structure).
2) do a network install (I'm doing via anonymous FTP in this case).

Here's the line I used to mount the ISO image (this assumes there is a
directory called "/home/ftp/pub/cdrom":

mount -t iso9660 -o loop=/dev/loop1 /tmp/6.1-i386.iso /home/ftp/pub/cdrom

(assuming the ISO image is /tmp/6.1-i386.iso)

Then when I install via anonymous FTP I tell the installation program to look
at my workstation in the "pub/cdrom" directory.

I'm doing that with two computers right now (a P90 desktop and a 486-50
laptop).
