My experiences with building and supporting Linux on Compaq have been
shaky at best.  I just put SuSE on an HP Netserver LH4 with 2GB RAM,
6 8GB SCSI disks, 2 500Mhz Zeon's, and an AMI MegraRAID controller.
Install went super (although I had to remove most of the RAM until I had
a kernel built to support 2GB RAM because the install hung otherwise).
We've installed Oracle, and it rocks.  This platform is highly recommended.
(if I had lawyers, they'd say for me to tell you YMMV :-)
