[lug] HD Failure (related question)

I use tape.  I used to use travan TR-4 but then switched to a 4 tape
autochanging DAT drive.  (see www.corpsys.com)  Both tapes have the same
capacity per tape but here is why I went to the DAT drive which was more
expensive.  The tapes are something like $9 each, compared to the TR-4
tapes which are $40!  Furthermore, the TR-4 tapes are pre-formatted so
that if you hit it with a degausser, kiss it good bye.  With the 4 tape
capacity, I could either back up a huge set of drives or do incrementals
for 4 days, which I do.
