[lug] ps2pdf and correct/nice fonts

I have seen some replies, but none mentioned a program called pdftex or
pdflatex.  We have it on a SUN, and it works fine.  There is also a rumor
to the effect that tetex has such a program included (goes directly from
TeX to pdf).  We have also tried ps2pdf and found it unacceptable.
