Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I'd actually like to be able to get on the
internet with the linux machine, but can't. All of the WIN machines are
functioning normally.

>Do you have a fixed IP address from your ISP?

Yes. We have a range of static IPs from 206.168.101.66 to 206.168.101.94.
The linux box is manually set to 206.168.101.90, despite the fact that this
number is also include in the DHCP range assigned by an nt server. It is
currently unallocated. I haven't used this IP number before, and when our
ISP initially set up the block, we did have some problems with some
addresses functioning normally and others not. This appeared to have been
resolved, but again, I haven't used this address before.

>Is your router configured in Bridging or routing mode?

Router is a Cisco 675 and in bridging mode. Under defaults in Linuxconf the
gateway is set to 206.168.101.65 and "Enable bridging" is checked.

Thanks,
Trey

Let's step back for a moment.

Do you have a fixed IP address from your ISP?

Is your router configured in Bridging or routing mode?

Hullo:

We've got a box running redhat 6.1 and a 3Com 905b NIC. The NIC shows up
using ifconfig as eth0 and looks good. I can ping the card and the Win98
machines on the local network, but cannot ping our isp or anywhere out on
the internet. I set the gateway using linuxconf.

The IP of the NIC is 206.168.101.90; the gateway is 206.168.101.65. Netmask
is 255.255.255.224. The routing table looks a bit odd in that the
"destination" for the eth0 is 206.168.101.64 and the gateway is the name of
the machine. I don't know what to make of this.

I do have two network cards installed, the other is also a 3com, but i took
the eth1 "down" using ifconfig.

At one point, this machine was online and working correctly. Any ideas on
how to troubleshoot this would be great.

Regards,
Trey
