They're not compatible, as others have already pointed out, but some people also forget that
by default ssh is compiled to use the /etc/hosts.deny and /etc/hosts.allow lists also.

(I believe both of them do this... I'm using OpenSSH now, so it's difficult for me to go test
it...)
