I think we need a bit more to go on.  Can you already access the CD drive
from your Linux system?  What is the CD's native file system (DOS, ISO,
etc.).  If the hardware is working, and you have a mount point directory
in root called /cdrom , simply becoming root and typing: 

   mount -tfilesystem /dev/cdrom /cdrom

should do the trick.
