If you are looking for something to run 68-Pin LVD drives, Egghead.com has
an Advansys controller on sale for $10.00. They fully support Linux for hard
drives. The only bad thing about the controller is it doesn't have a 50 pin
connector.

Yeah, I tried them, but they don't seem to cover the nuances between AVA
and AHA and 1505 vs 1510.  Of course, the problem could be that as I flip
back and forth between pages, my memory loses things. :-)
