Touques are a way for Canadians to feel superior to Americans. Picture
this: I'm in Canada with Evelyn, visiting her family. They say something
about a touque and I'm like "WTF is a touque?" They all get a big laugh
out of it. "You don't know what a touque is?!?" Turns out, after all
the fuss, that it's what's known in the civilized world as a "ski cap",
"stocking cap", etc...

You may think I'm making it up, but the .signature in question *WAS*
actually a radio promotion going on when I was up in Canada last
February. On another trip I realized I was "not in Kansas any more"
because of the poster advertising the "polka-fest at the curling rink."

(For those of you who don't know what curling is, it's Icw Bowling. Really.)
