First, let me publically thank Sean for anwsering my last question on
restoring files. Your advice was right-on. Now I have a question about
backing up across a network to a Sun tape drive. I try the following
command as suggested by the manual:

tar cvf - TMP/ | rsh host dd of=/dev/rmt/0

and this is what happens:

TMP/
TMP/degap-embl2mwm.pl
TMP/degap-embl2mwm.pl~
TMP/degap-fasta2mwm.pl
TMP/degap.pl
TMP/degap.pl~
TMP/degap2.pl
permission denied

I know that rsh works so I'm perplexed as to why this is failing. I'm
running Slackware 3.5 (soon to be updated if i can backup everything) if
that is of any help...

If there is an alternative way to do this, I'm all e-ears.

Thanks in advance! -Scott
