Yes.  The latest revision of RPM version 3 includes support for working
with version 4 files.  Going directly to 4 on a 6.2 system leaves you
with a broken RPM binary and needing to get the old RPM re-installed.
It should be the version listed on the KRUD pages in the package
list -- http://www.tummy.com/KRUD/  We've been using it and it worked
fine.
