[lug] Very long network connection times?

I'm not sure what linuxconf has done.  On the 3Com machine, look at
/etc/host.conf and make sure you see 'order hosts,bind'.  If that's
good, look in the tcpd logfile, /var/log/secure on my box, and see if
anything catches your attention.  As a final alternative, disable tcpd
(you're isolated, right?) or re-compile it with reverse lookups
disabled.
