[lug] NIC Error

I've been getting a sporatic error over the last couple of months on two
of my Linux boxes:

  eth0: card reports no resources

Can anyone give me a clue as to what might be causing this? Do I have
flaky NICs or something? Something not configured properly?

One of the boxes is a webserver, and the other is a mailserver --
neither is under heavy load.

One of the boxes is running Redhat 6.2 w/ 2.2.16-3 kernel.
The other is Redhat 7.0 w/ 2.2.16-22 kernel.

Hardware is identical, NICs are OEM Intel Ethernet Express PRO/100s.

Incidentally, I have a third identical machine (hardware wise) running
Solaris 8 that has not had any similar errors.

I have not been able to tie the error to any type of event; such as a
period of heavy usage or network scan or anything like that.

The error does not happen often; maybe once a month for each machine
over the last 3 or 4 months -- so it's not debilitating, but I'd still
like to correct the problem if possible.

Thanks much for any advice.

Why didn't the Broncos concede the game last Sunday? The Seahawks gained
more yards.
