I understand.

All I'm saying is I went through your steps on my Redhat 7.0 mailserver;
tried a POP3s connection with three different email clients and got a
[nearly] immediate disconnect from the server each time. Upon inspecting the
logs on the mail server, I discovered that it was attempting
[unsuccessfully] to open '/usr/share/ssl/certs/stunnel.pem' for each
connection attempt.

The file did not exist.

Once I created the stunnel certificate, everything worked like a champ.

I'm familiar with Stunnel (S Tunnel). It's a wrapper used to add SSL
capabilities to non-SSL clients and servers. Apparently, it's being used to
add SSL to POP (at least on my machine). I didn't explicitly add Stunnel to
my machine, so it must have been part of the original distribution (or
subsequent updates that I've added).

Anyway, I just wanted to mention the extra step I had to do in case someone
else on the list runs into the same thing. Sorry if I wasn't clear the first
time.
