rdist can also run through ssh but it is only one way.  ( Also,
you have to make one machine trust the other. )  From my quick
scan of the rsync manpage, it appears to be mainly an rpc 
replacement.  Can it do all of the diff checking that rdist does?
Also, it would be nice to have a two-way copy which I suppose
you could easily set up with rdist.
