I got the rpm manager upgrade for RH6.2 to work.  But then I also found 
the SuSE upgrade on their site, which I can't find again - so just pick 
up the RedHat 6.2 version.  It works and eliminates your problem.

rpm -Uvh rpm-3.0.5-0.i386.rpm

This should fix your problem.
