[lug] Emacs with Telnet?

that should really be a function of your .emacs file.  In any event, I
can run xemacs from a virtual terminal and it resorts to a terminal only
version.  There is also an rpm named xemacs-noX which has a non X
interface.  I've also done xemacs -nox
