Did you try to "upgrade" (rpm -iU) rather than "install" (rpm -i)? I
think that might work a bit better. For dependent packages such as glibc
and glibc-common, it might help to upgrade them on the same command line
(i.e. "rpm -iUh glibc... glibc-common...").
