Just a guess, but since scp was designed to replace rcp, I would assume
sftp replaces ftp. scp would require a user account authentication,
whereas ftp would use the ftp daemon configuration.

Btw, so far I have not found an OpenSSH URL for windows. Does anyone
know of such?
