Yes to both, AFAIK, provided that you use a differential terminator.  Of course, active termination will give you a more robust/tolerant bus.

If you're unsure whether or not your passive terminator is differential, you can determine this using an ohm-meter, as described in http://www.landfield.com/faqs/scsi-faq/part1/
