[lug] ODBC problem

I've used the OpenLink Multi-Tier ODBC drivers, which works with the iODBC
package, for over a year now. I am very pleased with their product. You can
download the software from www.openlinksw.com -- they offer a free
non-expiring two-user developer license. There are two components to the
software, a "request broker" that sits on the DB server, and the client
piece that runs on the Linux side.

We've found the OpenLink product to be very fast and reliable. And, on the
client side, as an iODBC component, the DB is accessible from any language
with ODBC support. It works like a charm with Python's mxODBC package.
