I thought the nameserver directive was for pointing at hosts that were
using dns.

Are you running dns?  Also setting domain equal to your hostname is bound
to confuse things (sorry about the misinfo I gave).

Try adding www.powerpull.net to your /etc/hosts like someone suggested.
