[lug] name resolution on rh 7.1

I am on a dialup connection with peakpeak.  I can't get any name
resolution.

/etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 209.183.251.162
nameserver 209.190.204.197
nameserver 128.187.89.6


all three of which are pingable and accessible via ip.

/etc/host.conf
order hosts,bind
multi on


I don't know where else I am supposed to tweak things to get this to work.

This is the error I get from using host:

;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

I get the same error from nslookup and dig.

I'm not sure where else to look.  Help.
