[lug] Sprint BroadBand Config

The config is trivial. All you do is configure one NIC in your box to
use the sprint wireless router as your gateway, set up your name servers
and you are good to go. I have used it for about a month now and am
very happy with it.
You get two static IPs with the service - one for the Sprint router (the
equivalent of a smart modem that connects to their dish shaped antenna)
and one for your main box. Of course you can masquerade... Sprint says
that they don't support Linux and their boxed software doesn't run on
Linux. But at some point I had to call them because I was given an
incorrect password at setup and of course they asked what OS I am
running. I answered Linux and the guy was OK with it and asked which
Linux mail client I was using.

Anyway - the setup is simply a router (you can buy it or rent it from
Sprint), which has a built in ethernet interface and connects to your
computer. The moment you turn on the router it signs on and establishes
a direct Internet connection for you.

The connection speeds are awesome for download. From some sites I see
speeds of over 500 kBytes/sec, that is over 3 times as fast as a T-1.
Upload is slow though - about 20 kBytes/sec. My latency is no problem
(around 100 ms or less).

Very nice service overall!
