Presentation: 5 Simple steps to securing your linux box

Speaker: Kevin Fenzi <kevin at tummy.com>,
         Co-author Linux Security HowTo

Abstract:

So you just have installed a new linux box and are ready to put it out
on the net? I will go over 5 simple steps you should do before your
machine ever connects to the outside world, including: applying
updates, disabling/removing unneeded services, setting up a simple
firewall, using ssh for remote access and what sort of access
outsiders will need to your machine. Just doing these simple steps can
reduce your vunerability to attacks quite a bit.
