[lug] Web set up suggestions

Greetings all,

How does one set up a large high load linux based web server system. 
This means that there is more than one web server connected to one or 
more oracle boxes, with cache synchronization* between the various web 
servers, etc.?  I'm just looking for general directions such as that can 
be done by squid and apache or the like.

Also if there is some howto, that would be fine too.

*By caching I mean caching data between web servers to avoid database 
hits, as opposed to caching web pages.
