[lug] HP Web JetAdmin & Debian & FPM packages...

I am attempting to install HP's Web JetAdmin software on a Debian
machine when they only support RedHat. Instead of providing a tarball or
even an RPM, they provide some self extracting/installing binary that does
nothing but fail with error '24' on my Debian box. I don't have a RedHat
box handy, so I can't install it there and then pull back the files.
I managed to get at the files in the self extracting binary that
one downloads, but I haven't made it much further than that. The bulk of
the install files appear to be packaged in something called an FPM
package (what I could gather from their shell script install
file). Looking at the contents of the file, a .fpb file, the top looks
like XML data defining the files contained inside and their SHA sums. Then
binary data follows.
I have looked high and low for information on this file format and
on install this program on Debian, and found nothing. Is there anyone out
there that has installed the JetAdmin software on Debian, or even knows
anything about this package format? And if so, would you please help
me? Thanks!

PS. I would even be happy to get a tgz of the installed files from
a RH system (private email of course).
