Sorry about that - I thought I was being fairly clear. Of the above, I get
the given result for all of them except for C-q M->, which gives me nothing;
view-lossage confirms that, indeed, xemacs isn't catching the M-> combination
in console.  Of further interest:

Both alt and escape seem to be bound to ESC in console, which also seems to

Both alt and escape seem to be bound to ESC in console. Whether or not
this has anything to do with the problem is debatable.

Using alt as the meta key works fine in xwindows - alas, I never use xemacs
anywhere besides the console.

The result of view-lossage after starting up xemacs and hitting M-> a few
times, using alt as the meta key, and then a few times using escape as the
meta key:

RET ESC > ESC > ESC > ESC > ESC > ESC x v i e w - l
o s s a g e RET

Between the return (to get rid of the welcome screen) and the first ESC >, I
hit M-> around five or six times. Also note that I used alt as the meta key to invoke view-lossage. Checking the keybindings shows:

'end-of-buffer is bound to: M->, C-end, C-kp-end'.

It's worth noting that C-end and C-kp-end also don't work.

Hopefully this should clear up any ambiguity; xemacs just isn't catching
the keystrokes bound to end-of-buffer for some reason (or, I noticed,
beginning-of-buffer). If I need to give out more information to further
clarify the problem, let me know.
