[lug] LaTeX, margins, font size

Oh another one of the problems I've had with learning LaTeX is that even
although there is a LOT of documentation, the people writing it of course
use LaTeX.  So ... you can get the documentation, but then you typically
must use LaTeX to compile the documentation and display it.  At the very
least you need to know about dvi files and that you can look at them using
xdvi.

This results in a bit of a chicken and egg problem - you don't know LaTeX
and need the documentation, but you have to know how to use LaTeX to
create the documentation.  That kept me out of it for quite a while.

The good news is that LaTeX isn't really that hard, it just looks that way
if you've never seen it before.
