Actually, Compaq has a released the JDK 1.3.1 JVM for Alpha. I downloaded
and installed it on a Ruffian (EV56-533) that I have and it seems to work
fine.

You will probably want to stay away from the Horde projects. I subscribe to
the IMP list and it seems to be a complete mess. There are tons of
compatibility issues with different versions of PHP, and few people seem to
be able to get it to work...

I am looking for a web application that would provide roughly the
same features as egroups or yahoogroups does, but I can run on my own
server. The main features I am looking for are:

	-> Mailing lists.
-> Calendar (even better if it could send email to different lists
                     prior to events).
-> Optionally a file upload area (which could then be accessed as
                                          web pages).
-> All the above provided via username/password logins.

The only constraints I have is that it can not use Java (this has to run
on a Linux/Alpha box where Java support is difficult at best), or mysql
(already have a pgsql database on the box, would rather avoid having to
setup another one).
I have looked on freshmeat, but there are so many packages that
"appear" to fit my requirements that it would take forever to figure out
if they really did. To make matters worse, I need to get this service
setup in a little over a week. :)
Does any one have a favorite web application, or one they have had
a decent amount of experience with and found well built, that meet the
above requirements and constraints, that they would like to recommend?
Thanks!

PS. If it wasn't for the time constraint, I might be tempted to
write my one. Too many ideas, too little time. :(
