[lug] nfs linux ppp

I have typically done the following

/etc/rc.d/init.d/portmap start # on the client and the server
/etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs start # on the server
/etc/rc.d/init.d/nfslock start #on the client

how are the two boxes connected?
