[lug] problem using ftp and wget

Whenever I use ftp to ftp alot of files from the same directory, I just use mc.
(midnight commander)- comes with gnome.

at a term, type mc
and then simply do
cd ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86
let it log in, tag all the files you want to download (ctrl-T), and hit F5 
to copy them to your hd.
sit back and do something else....
