There is a utility in the pcmcia pkg called dump_cis.  SuSE includes the
pkg I believe.  It should spit out a bunch of info about the card.  I have
two Xircom Modem / Ether combo cards - CEM33 and CEM56 - which I've had
very good luck with.  Anyway here's some sample output from dump_cis:

Note that line 26 shows that it sees a UART, and lines 14 & 15 show that
the card manager has assigned io mapping and irq.
