Is there a trick to using snmpconf in RH 7.1?

I've tried just plain old snmpconf and I get:
no such directory /usr/share/snmp/snmpconf, did you run make install?

I see that /etc/snmp/snmp.conf is the configuration location, but no other
files seem to be found, which is why I figure:
[root at nas4300l ucd-snmp-4.2]# snmpconf -c /etc/snmp -G

Known GROUPs of tokens:

Results in nothingness...
I've searched for other config files and can't find them (like
/usr/share/snmp).
Do you _have to_ configure snmpd by hand in RH?
