[lug] RPMs from source?

humm...something is very wrong. 

Did you do a clean install? with formatting the old existing mandrake
install? 

There were no errors from the installer? 
It sounds like something very bad happened on your install, like it
tried to install over the previous install and got messed up, or
the like. 

Is there a /tmp/install.log file? anything odd in it?
