[lug] kernel upgrade problem - RH 6.2

I have never tried updating a kernel yet, only packages.  Thanks for any
information. -- anne

 I need to do the following upgrade.
 [RHSA-2001:130-04] New kernel 2.2 packages are available

 I have all the packages downloaded to my system, but  cannot seem to get
python-xmlrpc-1.4-6.x.i386.rpm loaded.

> rpm -q up2date
> up2date-1.13-1
>

 Tried:
> rpm -Fvh up2date-2.5.4-0.6.x.i386.rpm
> error: failed dependencies:
> python-xmlrpc >= 1.4 is needed by up2date-2.5.4-
> 0.6.x
> rhn_register is needed by up2date-2.5.4-0.6.x

 Tried the following commands in order, and cannot get any python packages
loaded or updated:

> rpm -Fvh python-xmlrpc-1.4-0.6.x.i386.rpm
> rpm -Fvh python-1.5.2-27.6.x.i386.rpm
> rpm -Fvh rpm-python-3.0.5-9.6x.i386.rpm
> rpm -q python
> python-1.5.2-27.6.x
> rpm -q python-xmlrpc
> package python-xmlrpc is not installed
> rpm -q python-xmlrpc-1.4-0.6.x.i386.rpm
> package python-xmlrpc-1.4-0.6.x.i386.rpm is not installed
