[lug] help with "undocumented" CVS error

Debian's boot-floppies/installer crew was seeing similar stuff months
ago with some binaries that had been checked in (non-source) -- are
there any binary files in the CVS tree for the project you're working
on?

They ended up packaging the binaries needed into .deb format and using
those PLUS the CVS tree to build from.  I looked but I've deleted the
thread that stated why it appeared to be happening... but it was
defnitely a CVS bug.
