Tim and others,

Seems like everyone is suggesting gimp-print / cups for printing high-quality
graphics. So that is what I tried to get set up this weekend but I had
problems getting cups set up. I couldn't print the test page SuSE's yast2.
I've been using yast2 and rpm since I am a newbie admin.

So I reinstalled lpd, updated my version of ghostscript to 6.51 that includes
direct support for the Epson 890. From Gimp I understand that I will need to
use the "raw "print queue that yast set up. I know the ascii and color
queues work but I have not tried raw yet.

So, in terms of gimp-print what are the disadvantages using lpd instead of
cups? If possible, how would I set up gimp-print under ldp? What sets would
I need to take and how could I test that their working?

Thanks, Rob
