You know, now that I think about it, maybe that was Win4Lin. I might have gotten crossed. I tried both within a few days and realized that I would probably be better off with a Windows machine -- I was coding M$ docs into HTML using Bluefish, so the second monitor came in handy. That was 7-8 months ago. It didn't patch the kernel this time.

I did have problems, even two nights ago, installing VMware. Minor problems though; I had to compile VMware myself. The rpm install returned a few errors about some "Magic Cookie" missing. It was also saying it wasn't compatible with my kernel (2.4.6 custom) until I rebooted to the standard KRUD 7.1 kernel.

All in all, it's a great VM, IMO, now that I have it on a machine with more resources. I've spent about 30 hours total using all the usual Linux apps and getting to VMware via alt-ctrl-F8 for full screen. 10 of those hours have been hard-core Flash hours. It's running great.
