That may be but Evelyn recently mentioned bynari insight
(http://www.bynari.net), which offers both, a client for Linux with
Exchange server connectivity and an Exchange server alternative that
lets Outlook clients connect.

She also referred to some city in Florida that successfully deployed the
bynari system.  

FYI - many of us have to satisfy the Windows users' needs and running
*nix systems on the server side has to be invisible to the users and
clients.
