[lug] ifconfig errors

The other seven boxes I set up in this building use 255.255.192.0 for
the netmask, and the network guy confirms this.  As the card works
fine under Windoze, I don't think it's a hardware problem at all.  I
think it's a configuration problem of some sort.  IRQ?
