as a test i took a cd with very few scratches that has rh7.3 disk 1 on it,
did
the "dd" i got a i/o error but when i compared the size of the
output of dd (637.5mb) and the iso i downloaded from redhat (637.5mb) ,
then i tried again and i got no errors at all. is this common?
