My experience is about 1.5 years stale, but at the time I worked at Dell and 
we shipped servers with Adaptec RAID and RH 6.2.  The driver was a binary 
module that was flaky as hell.

Frankly, I didn't much care for those cards under NT, either.

The other options were AMI MegaRAID cards.  They weren't super-fast, but they 
/were/ ROCK SOLID.
