The problem I seem to be having is getting the nvidia kernel module to
load.  It looks to me like I need to grab a copy of the kernel source and
then try compiling the nvidia kernel module again.  Otherwise I keep
getting version mismatch errors.

Some of this could be my unfamiliarity with the Red Hat package manager.  
I'm primarily a Debian user.  Is there anything somewhat akin to Debian's
dselect utility on the Red Hat system?  Debian's dselect gives me a way to
see what I have available from my source archives, as well as what I have
installed, what version, and a nice text description of each package and
its dependencies.  Using the rpm command seems fairly equivalent to using
the lower level Debian dpkg or apt-get commands.  I think that some of
what Sean's work with krudfind and krud2date probably deals with some of
these issues.
