[lug] dns cache

hello,
   I have set up a DNS server for my home network. I cant seem to find
a dns cache of any sort. Do i need to enable a name caching service or
is this on by default?...rh7.3 default bind that has current up2date.
I would like to cache for performance and monitoring.
