Actually, if you're not looking for something really high-powered (I'm 
assuming you have fairly low web/mail/FTP traffic), I find it's useful 
to buy one of the "package" PCs from stores like Best Buy and CompUSA.  
These days you can pick up a 1.x GHz Athlon system-- with monitor and 
printer, just for fun-- for around $500-600 after all the silly 
rebates.

I bought a couple of them and then handed out printers and monitors to 
friends like it was Christmas.  Obviously I didn't need them for the 
server configuration... ;)
