[lug] Motherboard recommendations?

i would really advise against some pos compaq or hp from best buy or
wherever.
the way i see it, when and if my server goes down i want to be able to go
to joe-blow computers and get replacment parts. This is not easy for a
pesario
or hp non-corparate stuff. So i reccomend any board with a VIA chipset...my
fav in particular is kt266 and its varients...i have found Linux to
support this chipset well.
As stated earlier, on ebay and other places you can get a kick ass deal
on a xeon box. I think this is a good idea too, with high end hp and
compaq boxes its a little easier to get parts plus they are not
set to fail in 18 months like a persario.
Last suggestion....buy good hardrives. No western digital!

thanks,
jd
