No. I want to confirm that it is a genuine problem and not my mistake before
submitting a bug report.

I remember something else: after installing 7.3, I updated the kernel to
2.4.18* (it was 2.4.10 or 14, I think) using rhn update. After that even 7.3
stopped seeing the drives. I remember that I booted with the original 7.3
kernel to install 8.0 from the hard drive.
